Common tasks
Royal Thief
Kill your Royal Thieves and invite alliance members to take the rest.
What it does
When your Royal Thieves appear, Evonex can kill one of them with a free march and invite the alliance members you choose to kill the others. Each kill gives a Royal Thief Chest.
Where
Instances ▸ your instance ▸ Duties ▸ Common tasks ▸ Royal Thief. Click the name, or the sliders button at the end of its row.
You need
The switch on and the instance running. To attack a thief: a march set up on the card, a free march and enough stamina. To invite your own picks: a member list scanned on this PC.
When it runs
Not on a schedule. It runs when the game shows its Invite button, right after the task on screen finishes.
Finishing your daily activities can bring your Royal Ambassador and three Royal Thieves — Nightingale, Nell and Duke — to the world map for two hours. You can attack one of your own thieves with a march. The other two fall only to alliance members you invite, one kill each. When all three are down, the game mails you the Royal Chests.
Royal Thief does both parts for you. Because the game decides when the thieves appear, this task has no Schedule tab. An untouched card only invites: it spends no stamina and sends no march.
Set it up
Open the instance and click Duties. Under Common tasks, click Royal Thief.
In Our thieves, choose Our kill. Invite for all three only invites members and spends no stamina. Kill one, invite for the rest also attacks one thief with your march.
Keep Invite members on and set how many to invite. Then choose who fills the seats with Fill the seats with.
For My picks, click Choose members, press Scan members and pick the people you want. The steps are below.
If something is going to attack, set the March: a preset, or generals and troops.
Click Done, switch Royal Thief on and start the instance.
Royal Thief’s card as it ships. It has one page, Setup. A pick can’t be invited, Kill at most and March appear only when they apply.
1Status line Says Ready when the card is set, and what a turn will do. Otherwise it says what is missing.
2Our thieves Switches on handling of your own thieves.
3Our kill Chooses between attacking one thief yourself and only inviting members.
4Invite members Sets how many members to invite, from 1 to 5.
5Fill the seats with Chooses who gets the invites: your picks, the strongest members, or the top of the list.
6Invite seats Shows one cell for each seat. A dashed cell says how it will fill. Click the strip to open the member picker.
7Choose members Opens the member picker, where you pick who gets invited.
8Members’ thieves Switches on answering invitations from alliance members. It starts off.
9Reset card Puts the whole card back to its defaults and closes the window.
10Reset records Makes Royal Thief forget its turns, so it may take another one.
11Done Saves your changes and closes the window.
Settings
Status line
The line at the top. It says Ready when the card is set, with what a turn will do, for example invite for all three, 5 by top power. Otherwise it says what is missing: Nothing to do yet, Pick members to invite or Set up the march. It can also ask for a scan: Scan members on this PC or Scan members again.
Our thieves
The section’s switch. Turn it off to leave your own thieves alone. Default: on.
Our kill
Kill one, invite for the rest attacks one thief with your march and invites members for the others. Invite for all three only invites. You cannot choose the thief: Evonex attacks the top one while all three stand, otherwise the first one still standing. Default: Invite for all three, because an attack costs stamina.
Invite members
A switch and a count from 1 to 5. Each member you invite can kill one of your thieves. The count works only while the switch is on. Default: on, with 5 members.
Fill the seats with
My picks invites the members you choose, in seat order. Top power invites the strongest members in the list when the invites go out. Top of the list invites the first members as the game lists them, highest rank first. Default: Top power.
Invite seats
One cell for each seat. A solid cell is one of your picks. It turns orange and reads not in this PC’s list when this PC has no scan with that member. A dashed cell is not a pick. It says how it will fill when the invites go out: Top power at invite time, Top of the list at invite time or Left empty. The line under the strip counts your picks and says whether this PC has a member list yet. Click the strip to open the member picker.
Choose members
Opens the member picker, where you pick who gets invited and who never does.
A pick can’t be invited
Shown with My picks. It decides what fills a seat whose pick left the alliance, changed their name or is not in the list: Use top of the list or Leave it empty. Default: Use top of the list.
Members’ thieves
A second switch, off by default. Its line reads Invites from members are left alone while it is off. While it is on, it reads Kill one when a member invites us with the daily limit. It uses the same march as your own kill. Try Our thieves first, and switch this on once that works for you.
Kill at most
Shown while Members’ thieves is on: the most kills in one game day, from 1 to 100. Your own thieves never count against it. Default: 3 a day.
March
Shown only when something attacks — when Kill one, invite for the rest is chosen, or Members’ thieves is on. It has three rows, each with a button: preset, generals and troops. Pick a saved preset (see General presets), or choose generals and troops yourself, with the same pickers as in Solo Hunt. A thief is a level 1 boss, and the card’s own hint says mounted troops under a mounted general do it best. Each attack costs stamina. When stamina runs short, Evonex uses a stamina pack from your bag, smallest first. With none left, it skips the attack and still invites.
Reset card
Below the sections. Puts the whole card back to its defaults and closes the window, after you confirm.
Record line, Reset records, Done
At the bottom of the window. The record line reads Nothing recorded yet until Royal Thief has taken a turn, then says what it has done. Reset records is greyed out until then. It makes Royal Thief forget its turns, so it may take another one; it asks first and changes nothing in the game. Done saves and closes. The ✕ or Esc closes without saving.
Choose who gets invited
Each member appears as a picture of their name, exactly as the game draws it. So emoji and unusual letters still work. Evonex reads the member list from your game, and it keeps that list on this PC only. It never uploads it.
Click Choose members, or click the seat strip. The Alliance members window opens.
Press Scan members. Evonex reads Alliance ▸ Members page by page to the end, then goes back to the city. A big alliance takes a minute or two.
Find people with Find a member, filter by rank, or sort by List order or Power.
Press Invite on a member to give them the next free seat. Press it again to free the seat. Press Never to keep a member from ever being invited, even by top power or from the top of the list.
Reorder or remove picks in the INVITE SEATS column. Click a name under NEVER INVITED to allow that member again.
Press Save picks. It also switches Fill the seats with to My picks.
Scanning uses your emulator, so stop the instance first. If the emulator is busy, Evonex says Emulator in use and tells you what to stop. Clear list forgets the scanned list. Your picks and your Never marks stay, and a new scan reads the list again. A card you set up on another PC asks you to scan again here.
How it runs
Evonex looks for the game’s Invite button on the city and world-map screens it is already looking at, so the look costs nothing extra. When the button appears, Royal Thief is due.
It never interrupts a task. It takes its turn right after the task on screen finishes.
If the card should attack, it first checks that a march is free. If none is, it looks again in 5 minutes, then 10, then every 15.
It opens the Invitation window once and reads who is invited and how much time is left. Your own invitation reads My Royal Ambassador.
To attack, it jumps to the top thief that is still standing, taps Attack and sends your march, using a stamina pack if stamina is short. Later it opens your Royal Thief event and looks for Killed by under the thief to confirm the kill.
Once your attack is done, or straight away when the card does not attack, it opens Invite Alliance Members. It ticks your picks, or the top of the list, in one walk down the list and presses Confirm. The game answers Invited successfully. If fewer members were invited than you asked for, Evonex tries again 15 minutes later.
The row’s second line sums up the card, for example Invite for all three, 5 by top power. While the card has nothing to do, the row is held and says why.
Each visit shows in the Activity Monitor on Overview as a few rows, such as Checking for a free march, Attacking our thief and Inviting members. A one-line header sums it up, for example Killed Duke, invited 5 alliance members.
An invite cannot be taken back that day. Check your picks before the thieves appear. An attack also spends stamina and sends real troops on a march.
Problems?
Nothing happens when the thieves appear.
Check that the instance is running and the Royal Thief switch is on. Open the card: if the status line says Nothing to do yet, switch on Our thieves. Evonex sees the Invite button only on the city and world-map screens, not inside windows, and it waits for the current task to finish first.
The status line says “Set up the march”.
The card is set to attack, but it has no march. Choose a preset, or generals and troops, in the March section.
The status line says “Pick members to invite”.
You chose My picks but picked nobody. Click Choose members, or switch Fill the seats with to Top power or Top of the list.
The status line says “Scan members on this PC”.
The card has picks that this PC’s member list does not know, for example because you set it up on another PC. Stop the instance, click Choose members and press Scan members.
The Activity Monitor says “No free march”.
Every march was out, for example on a rally. Evonex looks again after 5 minutes, then 10, then every 15.
Fewer members were invited than I asked for.
The game shows how many seats are left. A member who was already invited has no box to tick. Evonex tries again 15 minutes later.
