Emulator setup

Where the display, ADB switch and port live in each emulator.

Every emulator needs the same two things — the display set to 540 × 960 at 120 dpi, and ADB switched on — they just bury them in different menus. Find yours below. The ADB address (host : port) is what you type into Evonex's New Instance dialog.

Evonex connects to whatever address you type, so any port works. The ports below are common defaults — a starting point. If a window won't connect, open the emulator's ADB setting and use the exact address it shows there.
MuMu Player is the recommended emulator. Evonex is built and tuned primarily against MuMu — in day-to-day testing it gives the smoothest, steadiest screen capture and the best all-round performance, so it is the safest pick if you're choosing one. The others below work just as well once set up; they simply aren't where most of the tuning happened. Whichever you use, the display and ADB settings are the same.

MuMu Player — recommended

  1. Display — open Settings → Display, set Resolution settings to Custom and enter Width 540, Height 960, DPI 120. MuMu defaults to a landscape size — switch it to the portrait 540 × 960.
  2. ADB — go to Settings → Developer options and set ADB debug to Enable local connection.
  3. Render — under Performance → Graphics renderer, choose DirectX for steadier screen capture.
  4. Port — MuMu Player 12 is commonly 127.0.0.1:16384; the older MuMu 6 is commonly 127.0.0.1:7555.

LDPlayer

  1. Display — open Settings → Display, set Resolution to Customize and enter Width 540, Height 960, DPI 120, then Save settings. Leave Force landscape mode off so Evony stays portrait.
  2. ADB — go to Settings → Others, set ADB debugging to Enable local connection, then Save settings.
  3. Port — the first window is commonly 127.0.0.1:5555; each extra window uses another port (often 5557, 5559…).
  4. Restart the player after changing the display so the new resolution takes effect.
LDPlayer ships with ADB disabled. If an instance won't connect, this switch is the first thing to check.

MEmu

  1. Display — open System settings → Display, set Resolution to Customize and enter W 540, H 960, DPI 120; leave Forced landscape off. Click OK and restart.
  2. Engine — under System settings → Engine, set Render mode to DirectX for steadier screen capture.
  3. ABI — in System settings → Preferences, set ABI to x86 & ARM so 64-bit ARM-only games install.
  4. ADB & port — MEmu has ADB on by default (no switch). The first window is commonly 127.0.0.1:21503; each extra window steps up by ten (21513, 21523…).

BlueStacks (5-series)

  1. DisplaySettings → Display: pick a Custom resolution of 540 × 960 (portrait) and set 120 dpi. BlueStacks defaults to landscape — Evony is portrait.
  2. ADBSettings → Advanced, turn on Android Debug Bridge. BlueStacks prints the exact IP : port right under the switch — copy that.
  3. Port — often 127.0.0.1:5555, but newer builds assign a dynamic port, so always use the address shown under the ADB switch.
After any display change, restart the emulator so the new resolution sticks, then Start the instance — Evonex verifies 540 × 960 before it runs.
