Profiles

Set one account up, then copy its setup to the rest.

Where

Instances ▸ open an instance ▸ Task setup or Duties ▸ the profile button at the top right. In the Manager: Profile.

Use it to

Copy one instance's setup to other instances, and keep them in step.

You need

One instance set up the way you want.

A profile is one instance's setup, saved under a name. Bind another instance to it and that instance takes the setup at once and keeps following it.

What a profile carries

• The plan: which tasks are on it, which are switched on, their order, and which one is Solo.
• Each task's options from Task setup, including answers you prepared for tasks you have not added yet.
• The instance's city map.
• Every duty's switch and settings.
• Each task's schedule: its rhythm and when it stops.

A profile does not carry what belongs to one instance or one PC: the name, the emulator, the port, Screen delay, Rest breaks and Shared device. Profiles appear on your other PCs too, and you can keep up to 50.

Save a profile

1. Set one instance up the way you want, on Duties and Task setup.
2. Click the profile button at the top right. It reads No profile until the instance follows one.
3. Press New profile from this instance.
4. Name the setup and press Save. If the name is taken, Evonex asks before it overwrites that profile.

The instance follows the new profile.

Use it on other instances

1. Open another instance and click its profile button.
2. Pick the profile in the list on the left.
3. Press Bind to this instance, then Bind to confirm.

To bind many instances at once, open the Manager, tick the rows, press Profile, pick the profile and press Apply to N. When you add instances, the PROFILE box on the Add instances sheet can bind them as they are created. Instances and Create your first instance explain both.

The Profiles window

1. 1New profile from this instance Saves this instance's setup as a new profile and binds the instance to it.
2. 2BOUND Marks the profile this instance follows.
3. 3Unsaved changes Appears when this instance differs from its profile. The changes live only on this PC until you save them.
4. 4Save to profile Gives the changes to the profile, so every instance bound to it gets them.
5. 5Discard changes Puts this instance back to exactly what the profile says. Your changes are lost.
6. 6Copy from another profile Takes settings from one of your other profiles into this one.
7. 7N changed Says how many things in that part differ from the profile. Click the row to list them.
8. 8USED BY Lists the instances that follow this profile.
9. 9Unbind Stops this instance following the profile. It keeps every setting it has right now.

The three small buttons beside the profile's name rename it, duplicate it (the copy is not bound to anything) and delete it. Deleting removes the profile from every PC. The instances that followed it keep their settings.

The profile button outside this window shows where an instance stands: No profile, Rally lead · In sync, or Rally lead · 5 changes.

Follow and update

• When anyone saves a profile, from any instance on any of your PCs, every other instance bound to it catches up within about three minutes. A running instance picks the change up at its next step, and the Activity Monitor says so.
• Change a bound instance and it shows N unsaved changes. Press Save to profile to share them, or Discard changes to take the profile's setup back.
• Binding an instance leaves it In sync, with nothing to save.
• A profile saved on one PC appears on your other PCs. It works offline too, and syncs when you are online.

Copy settings between profiles

Copy from another profile takes settings from one of your other profiles into this one: whole sections, or just the entries you pick.

1. Open the profile you want to change and press Copy from another profile.
2. Pick the profile to take settings from, under TAKE SETTINGS FROM.
3. Under WHAT TO COPY, tick Task setup, Duties and Scheduling. The arrow at the end of a row lets you pick single entries.
4. Press Copy and confirm.

1. 1Copy into “Rally lead” Goes back to the profile's details without copying.
2. 2TAKE SETTINGS FROM Picks the profile the settings come from.
3. 3Task setup Shows how many of the profile's tasks are ticked. The arrow beside it opens each task.
4. 4Duties Shows how many duties are ticked.
5. 5Scheduling Says the other profile has nothing here to copy.
6. 6What you tick replaces… Reminds you that ticked settings replace the same settings in this profile. What you leave unticked stays as it is.
7. 7Copy Copies the ticked settings into the profile.

A copy changes the profile, not an instance. Instances bound to the profile follow within a few minutes. With only one profile, the button tells you to make a second one first.
