Find your way around
The window, the page list and the small controls you use every day.

Evonex is one window. You pick a page from the page list, and the page fills the rest of the window. A few small controls sit on the title bar and along the edge of the window.

Open a page
The page list always holds the same pages, in the same order.
- Dashboard — how every instance on this PC is doing. Evonex opens here. Read more
- Instances — your game accounts. Add, start, stop and open them. Read more
- Coordex — world-map coordinates that some tasks aim at. Read more
- City Mapper — shows Evonex where the buildings in your city are. Read more
- Resources — game data that every instance shares: generals, monsters, champions, Black Market items, recruits, troops and traps. Read more

The Calculator is not in the list. It is an icon on the title bar.
Clicking the page you are already on does nothing. Click Instances again while an instance is open to go back to the list of instances. Evonex remembers whether you were on the list or inside an instance.
Where the page list sits
Evonex has three looks: Aurora, Standing Watch and Prism. You pick one under Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Theme. The pages never change. Only the place of the page list does: along the left edge, across the top, or along the bottom of the window. The numbers on the picture above point at the page list, whichever look you view.
Only icons? Hover an icon to see its name. Make the window wider, or press the small button on the page list that shows and hides the names (Collapse menu, Hide labels or Show labels, depending on your look).
The title bar
- Calculator — the icon next to the light and dark control. It opens the calculators for Troop Resources, Trap Resources, Building Upgrades and Civilization Gear. Read more
- The sun and moon control switches between the dark and the light look. It does the same as Settings ▸ Appearance. Hover it to read what the next click does: Switch to light theme or Switch to dark theme.
- The window buttons minimise, maximise (or restore) and close the window. Drag the title bar to move the window. Double-click it to maximise or restore. Drag an edge or a corner to resize.
Closing the window quits Evonex and stops every running instance. To get Evonex out of the way, minimise it. Instances keep working.
Notifications
The notification strip shows news from the Evonex team, such as a new version. It says new notifications with a count when something is unread, and no new notifications when you are up to date. Click it to open the list.
- 12 new Says how many messages were new when you opened the list.
- 2A message Shows a title, how long ago it arrived and the text. A coloured edge tells the kind: orange for a warning, green for an update.
- 3NEW Marks a message you have not read yet. The tag stays until you close the list.
- The newest message is at the top.
- Opening the list marks everything as read. The count on the strip clears at once.
- The count turns orange when an unread message is a warning.
- Evonex looks for news every three minutes, and again each time you open the list.
- not checked yet means Evonex has not reached the internet since it opened.
Jump to any page with /
Press / to open a small search list of every page, including the Calculator. Type part of a name, or the short code beside it, such as A2. Press ↑ and ↓ to move, Enter to open the page and Esc to close the list.

- 2A page Click a row, or press Enter on it, to open that page.
While you type in a text box, / types a slash. If your look has a / JUMP key, it opens the list even then.
Keys that work everywhere
- / jumps to a page.
- Esc closes a window or a list without saving.
- Enter presses the highlighted button in a window.
- Ctrl+F moves to the filter box on the Duties tab of an instance, and on the Instances Manager.
- Alt+1 to Alt+5 switch between the five views of an open instance. They work in the Standing Watch look.
- Instances has more keys. Open its list with the keyboard button beside the page title. Read more
One window at a time
Evonex runs once on a PC. If you start it again, the window that is already open comes to the front.
Colours and marks
The same colours mean the same thing on the Dashboard, on Instances and inside an instance.
Green
Working. The instance is running a task.
Blue
Fine, but not busy: resting, waiting for its turn, or ready to start.
Orange
Needs a look or is waiting on something: paused, recovering, yielded to you, in use by another instance, or needs setup.
Red
Error. Open the instance to see why.
Grey
Off: stopped, offline, or no emulator.
A finished run carries a mark. ✓ finished fine. ✕ failed. ⊘ you stopped it, which is never a failure. ● still running. ○ Evonex never recorded how it ended, usually because it was closed during the run.
Problems?
I can't find the page list.
Each look puts it in a different place: along the left edge, across the top or along the bottom. Check all three. You can change the look under Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Theme.
I only see icons.
Hover an icon to see its name. The window may be too narrow, so make it wider. Or the names are switched off: press the small button on the page list (Collapse menu, or Show labels).
Where is the Calculator?
It is an icon on the title bar, next to the light and dark control. It is not in the page list.
I closed Evonex and my instances stopped.
That is how it works: closing the window quits Evonex. Open it again and press Start on the instances you want. Minimise the window instead of closing it.
Evonex won't open a second window.
Evonex runs once on a PC. Starting it again brings the first window to the front.
The notification strip says “not checked yet”.
Evonex has not reached the internet since it opened. It tries again by itself, and every time you open the list. Check your connection.
A message ends with (ref A1B2C3).
When something unexpected goes wrong, Evonex says so in plain words and adds a short reference code. The same code is in the log files, so quote it when you ask for help. You can save the logs under Settings ▸ Logs. Read more
